FAQs and Operation Policies

Are these dives guided ?

Belizean law categorises scuba diving as a tourism related activity. For divers who want to dive in this country, it means all of your dives must be with a qualified professional such as a dive master or instructor acting as guide and supervisor.

What are standard depths?

One of the deepest dives that we offer is on the Blue Hole trip, which, if you are qualified, is conducted to a maximum depth of 40 Meters. Other dives on almost every other trip will be down to a maximum depth of 24 meters or 18 meters.

How deep can I go in the Blue Hole?

If you are advanced open water certified or certified OPen Water with 25 dives or more then you can dive to 40 meters on the Blue Hole dive. If you are less experienced with an Open Water certification then your dive in the Blue Hole will be limited to 24 meters.

I’m travelling alone, will I need a buddy?

Diving with a dive buddy is important part of diving when diving with no professional supervision. However in a group setting, it is possible to follow the guide and use them as a reference for your dive profile and to communicate concerns or important metrics such as air pressure. Should you wish to dive with a buddy we will not assign a dive buddy for you but you can ask any of the members of the dive group to be your dive buddy.

What if I have not been diving for a while?

It is important that you are prepared for any of our dive tours. We ask all divers to let us know if they have not been diving within the past two years. If it has been two years or more since your last dive then we require you to do a scuba review or refresher course prior to joining any of our dive trips. You can either do a refresher before your arrival or you can sign up for one with us. If you do decide to do a refresher before you arrive be sure to have it logged and signed by your instructor.

What if I can’t do the dive when I’m there?

It is extremely important that you make sure that you are okay to dive, this may mean that things like congestion, sickness, and a susceptibility to motion sickness can be a factor that limits your dive. Should you feel that any of these factors may affect your dive even after signing up please let us know as early as possible and we will do our best to understand your situation and accommodate you accordingly. Please note that our service is, of course, inherently tied to diving. However, we believe it is reasonable for us to base our prices on operational costs. In that regard, when you sign up to dive with us you are placing a reservation for a space on our boats which require fuel and staff to operate. In other words, what you are paying for is not just for the dive, but for trip itself which is heavily dependent on fuel costs and labor. This means that should you find yourself unable to do a dive during a trip it will not change the price that you pay.

Please feel free to download our diveshop’s form to fill out and send to us ahead of time. It will also offer details on reservation and cancellation policies.
